Wedding in Apulia – Yesterday
Little or nothing, unfortunately, remained of the healthy simplicity of old-fashioned weddings, where everything was sewn, made or embroidered by hand, from the trousseau, to the dress, the reception and the party favours. Party favours are a custom born to thank the guests at the wedding. Once, small, colourful containers for sugared almonds were hand knitted or crocheted at home. However, sometimes, at the end of the ceremony, the newlyweds simply passed among the guests with a tray full of sugared almonds, from which each one took a spoonful. It was celebrated at home with close relatives and many dances.

Wedding in Apulia – Nowadays
Over time and with the advent of the reception rooms, something has slowly changed in the celebrations, but fortunately not in the customs. Wedding planner, location, wedding cake, favour bag, wedding list, reception, implementation, wedding reportage, flower arrangements, are just some of the novelties for a wedding in step with the times. And the party favours? They never go out of style, they evolve. From the simple sugared almond of past times, we have moved on to more or less useful objects. Silver or fine ceramics, depending on the possibilities. Today, more than ever, the boom of VIP weddings consecrates Apulia as a favourite destination for getting married, even for foreigners. In front of a crystal clear blue sea and suggestive cliffs or among expanses of centuries-old olive trees. In a land that knows how to delight the taste, the party favour cannot not to fulfilling the expectations of the guests. Now food dominates, elegantly beating the classic ornament. The choice ranges from excellent Apulian wines, to oil and jams. All in perfect country chic style.
